Story of survival of Tyggy and Sticker never would happen, if not Bermy.

After hurricane Sandy there were no fences around houses, backyards were covered by tall grass. Feral cats lived under survived decks and in that wild grass. There was a cat, who gave birth to 7 kittens. After we found the kittens , the cat moved them to another backyard which surprisingly had fence left. By legend, Bermy was father of those kittens. In a while when kittens grew into cats, they went their separate ways, except a few. One of them was a mother of two tiny kittens: Sticker and Tyggy. She was very feral, never came close. Bermy begged for food every evening on her behalf while she was pregnant.

We called her - Druzhok(Friend). She was a good mother. She guarded her kittens very well. Sticker (tuxedo kitten) seemed to be weak and small. She always cared him in her mouth. After her always followed a little Tyggy(tabby kitten) who was a bit bigger and stronger. As they grew, Druzhok started to bring her kittens to our backyard to eat.

One day she was hit by car almost next to our house. The kittens became orphans. They hid in our neighbor's backyard and waited for their mother the whole day. No one came. As usual when it became dark, Bermy came to our backyard and waited for Druzhok. She did not come, he wanted to leave. I saw him and told him that Druzhok is gone. "Please bring the kittens here, I'll feed them." He understood. He went to the neighboring backyard. After a while his big figure reappeared on neighbor's fence. After him, two little kittens slowly clinging to the fence followed. 

Since then, every morning and evening he brought the kittens to our backyard to eat and later he brought them back to safety, behind the fence,  till they were 3-4 months old.

In a month, we took kittens in, but that is a different story.

Now when I look at Sticker, he resembles his grandfather very much and Tyggy by her character reminds me of her mother.
